Puma Running shoes

I have been on a no-end-in-sight quest for the past 4 weeks (or so) searching high and low for the perfect shoe... running shoe that is. Let me explain. As the days lengthen and we pull into the summer months, months of lighter fabrics, body hugging American Apparel dresses, un-forgiving high-waisted Stella McCartney Jeans, boob tube, tube skirts and the long talked about on CeliaLoves belly top. I made a pact to myself, a pact that i have every intention of keeping. To tone everything up in time for summer, to banish all wobble, lessen the thighs and flatten that tum); to stop eating in excess (step away from the tortilla chips); and to run everyday. And i had been doing this until i started to damage my ankle... why...? Bad running shoes, so my quest began, and my many enquiries have led me to Puma and the lovely people at Puma have sent over a pair of their Puma Concinnity III running shoe. They arrived this morning in a lovely red Puma box, not bad for a Monday morning eh...
They are such a lightweight trainer and, i have spent the whole morning wearing them, they are so comfortable and very supportive and a great improvement to my rubbish £5 brick lane sneakers i was running in before. I cannot wait to get out there on the open road (well however far i can get in 20minute run) and try these babies out. Although described as for the "runner looking for an unfussy shoe with great speed and an honest feel for the road" which is never my motto for any fashion choice. Not really a trainer-wearing sort of girl, i will be sure to enjoy my runs in them as this is definitely a means to an end... A fit bod!

Trend premonition at Arcadia

To be honest most of us can only dream about owning all our designer fancies. Myself included. So last week was a great opportunity and privilege to see more of the styles that most of us will be able to afford and be sporting by way of the Acadia press day (this included Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, and so on. So here is a look at the treats we have in store for AW09 on the high street. I feel like i have seen the future and it is good! So damn good!

Miss Selfridge are continuing and sticking with the rocker look. Mainly blacks and metallic shades continuing the "I'm with the band" theme. Think oversized tees, black oversized blazers tight black leather or leather look mini's and trousers, metallic finishes, sequins, rivets and studs. All sounding very very familiar, in fact sounds very much like my current and growing SS09 wardrobe. Lovely now, but to think that in 6 months we will still be expected to stick to the looks we are already perfecting now. To be honest i was more impressed by the visual merchandising and set up they had in the Miss Selfridge area. The mannequins were made to look like they were performing in bands either propped up against a mike; with a bass precariously wedged in their arms, and sat at a drum kit. Bring on the festival me thinks!

I moved on from Miss Selfridge to Topshop with the wide-eyed delight of a 5 year old entering a sweet shop. On my gasp-filled travels around the Topshop area, i came across some a few pieces that stuck in my mind "I am sure i have seen these somewhere else before..."*
*Without using the word copy, i will tend to say "In the style of..."
In the style of those controversial Peter Jensen bootsIn the style of Christopher Kane's recent AW09 collection. Absolutely loving the cage skirt and the see-through top combo!
In the style of Prada recent AW09 shoes (see my recent post)

In the style of "Those" YSL cage shoesI noticed a gorgeous trend of the caged stuctured skirt running throug a few stories in Topshop and also on Asos (press day news and pics to come)
Celia Blue Watch: More thigh high and cage shoes!
In the style of the Kenzo AW09 boots! I love the retro rubber heels and the clean space and barely any detail except the small buckle and minimalist lace up detail.
Topshop design boots, i predict these will be the boot of AWo9 from Topshop, they came in varying styles and colours.90s...? So Spice Girls circa 1998!!
90s.......
Yes! The good old 90s are definitely in, and if you are not ready just yet worry not, take this as a trend alert, trend forecast...no trend premonition. Worry not for now, lets make the most of our belly tops, denim shirts, play suits and mid-rifts, they will be around in about 6 months. No your eyes do not deceive you, below and above you do see shell suits! I am so looking forward to it!
Ive seen the future! And it is rocks!

Frame

Yesterday i awoke at the crack of dawn (7.30- so not really the crack), stretched my arms up and thought... Shall i crawl back into bed for an extra hour?
Good thing i didn't. I ushered my tired ass into the center of Shoreditch to the opening of a new 'Holistic dance and fitness studio'. The mantra behind this non-traditional gym is 'getting fit shouldn't be a chore'. And a chore it wasn't.
Offering classes such as Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Dancersize, all different ranges of yoga from cycle yoga to dynamic yoga to acro yoga (sounds painful...).
I got totally involved jumped right in there firstly with 80s Aerobics. Lots of people had got into the spirit and were donning the 80s look, with leotards over leggings, metallic lame leggings and legwarmers. Shame on me with my holey white top- So not fashion! The class was such a laugh. We learned a short dance routine to Michael Jackson's 80 classic 'Beat it'. After breaking a slight sweat i moved on to the Lindy Hop class, learned the basics of the dance and breaking, leg kicks, lifts the lot. I broke a little bit more of a sweat and having such a laugh with it. Lastly i had a one on one session with professional dancer and Frame trainer Trevor on Reformer Pilates. I am now a total convert.

A day later i am aching all over but am itching to go back to Frame. I had such a fun time there and the they have definitely taken the boring elements of keeping fit out, and injected lots of fun. I hop skipped and jumped my way out of the building and had a really great day, must be all the endorphins!

Classes range from £8 per session to £55 for a 4 week course. They offer short contracts or pay as you go discounted rates. At the moment they are offering a buy one class get one free offer, so i say get yourself down and booked for a class. I think its the most fun you could have in a gym. Gotta get trimmed for those belly tops remember....
